IBM API Connect (APIC) Developer

Key Responsibilities

- Design, develop, and maintain APIs usingIBM API Connect (APIC) and related technologies.
- Manage thefull API lifecycle : planning, design, implementation, testing, deployment, monitoring, and retirement.
- Configure and manageAPI Gateway policies (security, throttling, rate limiting, transformations, etc.).
- Integrate APIs with backend systems such asdatabases, SOAP/REST services, and microservices .
- Ensure compliance withAPI security standards (OAuth 2.0, JWT, TLS, SAML, etc.).
- Work with DevOps teams to integrate APIs intoCI/CD pipelines .
- Monitor API usage, troubleshoot performance issues, and optimize for scalability.
- Document APIs and providedeveloper-friendly portals for external/internal consumers.
- Collaborate with architects, business analysts, and stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions.

Required Skills & Qualifications

- 3–5 years of hands-on experience withIBM API Connect (APIC) and DataPower Gateway.
- Solid knowledge ofREST, SOAP, JSON, XML ,



and API design best practices.
- Proficiency inAPI security protocols (OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, JWT, LDAP, SAML).
- Experience inJavaScript , and Node.js, Java, or Python for backend API development.
- Familiarity withcloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerized environments (OpenShift, Kubernetes, Docker).
- Knowledge ofCI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps).
- Strong troubleshooting, debugging, and problem-solving skills.
- Bachelor’s degree inComputer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent work experience).

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience withmicroservices architecture and event-driven integrations.
- Exposure toAgile methodologies and DevOps practices.
