Riverbend Co-operative

Outlook

Riverbend Co-op is a dynamic retail co-operative serving multiple commodities across 14 communities. Ranked as the 75th largest company in Saskatchewan, we proudly serve the Central Saskatchewan communities of Beechy, Davidson, Kenaston, Hanley, Tullis, Lucky Lake, Young, Strongfield, Simpson, Broderick, Outlook, Wiseton, Nokomis, and Lanigan.

About the Role

Great design can make a place feel like home!

Riverbend Co-op is looking for a creative, community-minded Part-Time Designer to help tell our story across the places and moments that matter to our members. From campaign concepts and social content to in-store signage and everyday design pieces, you’ll turn ideas into visuals that feel unmistakably Riverbend… useful, welcoming, local, and full of personality.

This is a 10-20 hour/week hybrid role for a designer who likes variety, values good ideas over corporate polish, and wants their work to have a visible impact. You’ll collaborate with people across the Co-op to bring campaigns to life, celebrate the communities we’re part of, and create experiences that connect with members, customers, and our teams.

You won’t just be making things look positive. You’ll help shape how people see, feel, and connect with Riverbend Co-op.

What You Will Be Doing

- Make ideas impossible to ignore. Design bold, engaging creative for print and digital; from posters, flyers, newsletters, and ads to social graphics, web assets, presentations, signage, templates, and event materials.
- Bring the Riverbend brand to life. Use our logos, colours, typography, imagery, templates, and brand standards with intention; keeping things recognizable while finding fresh ways to make the brand feel alive.
- Turn “we need something” into “that’s exactly it.” Work with leaders and teams across the Co-op to understand what they’re trying to say, then turn their ideas into clear, polished, thoughtful design that people actually want to engage with.
- Be part of the moments that matter. Support campaigns, community events, internal communications, photography, and creative projects that showcase our people,

connect with our members and customers, and reflect the communities we’re proud to be part of.
- Keep the creative engine running smoothly. Organize design files, templates, photography, and brand assets so the right things are easy to find, up to date, and ready when inspiration (or a deadline) strikes.
- Bring the ideas. Spot opportunities to make our communications more interesting, accessible, consistent, and useful. Try new approaches, share your perspective, and help us keep finding better ways to tell the Riverbend story.

What You Will Need

- Design know-how . A certificate or diploma in graphic design, visual communications, digital media, marketing, communications, or a related field is great. We’re also open to an equivalent mix of education, training, hands-on experience, and a portfolio that shows what you can do.
- Real-world experience . You bring 3-5 years of experience in graphic design, marketing design, communications, or a similar creative role, and you know how to move a project from “here’s the idea” to “ready to go.”
- A portfolio with personality . Show us what you’ve got. We’re looking for strong print, digital, layout, and brand-focused work; and we want to see how you think, solve problems, and bring ideas to life.
- Your tools are part of your toolkit, not your identity . You’re comfortable with Adobe Creative Cloud, Canva, or similar design software, along with Microsoft 365. More importantly, you know when to use the right tool for the job.
- You sweat the good stuff. Details matter to you . You have strong proofreading and organizational skills, bring creative thinking to the table,

and can balance beautiful design with practical realities like budgets, timelines, accessibility, and business needs.
- Bonus points for extra creative range . Photography, basic video editing, website content management, accessibility knowledge, print production experience, or experience in a retail or co-operative environment are all assets. If you can do a little bit of everything, even better.

What You Will Get

- A creative role with room to make your mark.
- Flexibility that fits real life. Work approximately 10-20 hours per week in a hybrid role that gives you meaningful creative work without asking you to live at your desk.
- A portfolio full of real-world work . Your designs won’t disappear into a folder. You’ll see your work come to life across Riverbend Co-op stores, campaigns, events, communities, and communications; and in front of the people we serve every day.
- A front-row seat to local life. Get inspired by the people, places, stories, and everyday moments that make Riverbend Co-op unique, from retail and agriculture to community events and team member stories.
- Creative work that actually matters .

Your work will help people notice, understand, remember, and connect with what’s happening across the Co-op. That means your creativity has a purpose beyond making things look good.

- A team that gets excited about good ideas . Join a supportive marketing and communications team that values fresh thinking, practical creativity, strong visuals, thoughtful collaboration, and an excellent eye for detail.
- Great work, with a little something extra. Enjoy competitive compensation along with access to our Employee and Family Assistance Program.

Application Closing Date

This opportunity is open to both internal and external candidates until September 24 at 4:00 PM.

Only those selected for an interview will be contacted. If you require accommodation during the recruitment process, please let us know, we are happy to support an inclusive and accessible experience. If you have any questions, please email [email protected] .
