Position Overview

WP Development is a real estate developer and builder based in the GTA. WP has completed ~500 units across low-and mid-rise communities and is growing quickly, with more than 2,000 new units in active development.

We are looking for a Development Associate to support new development projects, and to manage maintenance & repairs at our completed condominium property. This is a hands-on, evolving role suited to someone who is entrepreneurial and comfortable taking ownership of a wide range of responsibilities. The ideal candidate should have robust analysis, critical thinking skills, and communication skills to be able to resolve issues with limited support.

Responsibilities

- Support the development of active real estate projects: Planning, budgeting, construction.
- Property management:
- Assess repair requests and determine the appropriate contractor, trade or handyman to contact
- Follow up with trades and contractors to ensure work is completed properly and on time
- Maintain organized records of repairs, warranties and project correspondence
- Active problem solving & analysis: review project information and be an owner in identifying and implementing practical solutions to various issues that arise during development. This includes but is not limited to:



disputes and litigations related to invoices and construction contracts, support in the construction tendering process, dealing with construction trades to resolve such issues.
- Take on additional responsibilities as the role and company continue to grow.

Qualifications

- 1-2+ years of experience in real estate development, construction, property management or a related field General knowledge of construction methods, building materials and common repair issues
- Strong critical-thinking, problem-solving abilities
- Self Starter: Entrepreneurial mindset and ability to take initiative
- Strong organizational, communication and follow-up skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and changing priorities
- Comfortable working independently and as part of a small team Valid driver's licence and ability to travel to project sites
- Ability to work fully in person from our Markham office
