Job Overview

We are seeking a curious, community-minded Digital Journalist to tell the stories of Winnipeg and the people who make it thrive. The successful candidate will produce timely, engaging digital content with a particular focus on local businesses, inspiring individuals and positive developments across the city.

The Role

- Gathering local stories: You will listen for the questions people are asking. Then you will find leads, interview sources, and verify information along the way.
- Crafting content: You will write digital news stories, prepare photo galleries, and edit videos.
- Cultivating local relationships: You will develop relationships with local stakeholders and news sources.

The Ideal Candidate

- You have proven experience in news reporting.
- You have excellent communication skills (written and verbal) and are familiar with the Canadian Press Guide.
- Experience with WideOrbit, Burli, photography, and/or videography are an asset.
- You are dedicated to your craft.



You aren’t afraid to cover stories outside of business hours.
- You are eager to engage with the community.
- You are curious and like to learn new things.
- You have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
