Lower School Class Teacher Full-time Starting August 2026 Position Description

The class teacher is responsible for carrying a class of up to 24 students from Grade 1 to Grade 8. You will evaluate each child’s academic, emotional, and social progress, and report to parents in writing and in interview. You will contribute to pedagogical, child and curriculum study. You will lead parent evenings, and work individually with parents to foster a thorough understanding of the Waldorf curriculum and child development. You will have administrative duties as well as your teaching responsibilities. You will attend all faculty meetings and assist with other school events. Requirements





Successful experience as a Class Teacher. Strong communication and collaboration skills. Demonstrated ability to work well in a team setting. Demonstrated ability to collaborate with fellow teachers and administrators to bring forward the full Waldorf curriculum. Demonstrated ability to work with parents to support their understanding of Waldorf education, and to meet their questions and needs as parents in the elementary school years. Waldorf Teacher Education certification, or commitment to becoming Waldorf certified. Bachelor of Education or equivalent.
