The Role
This is a true teaching position. As a Driving Instructor, you will make a lasting impact in your community by helping teenagers and adults develop the skills and confidence to pass their road test and navigate Nova Scotia roads safely. We handle all the administrative work, bookings, and vehicle overhead so you can focus strictly on teaching.
Licensing & Training Requirements: To be considered for this role, you must fall into one of two categories:
- Already Licensed (as an Instructor): You currently hold a valid Nova Scotia Driving Instructor's license and are ready to hit the road.
- Willing to Certify: If you do not currently hold an instructor license, you must be willing to independently complete the mandatory Driving Instructor Training program through Safety Services Nova Scotia to obtain your certification.
What We Provide:
- Company Vehicle: Fully equipped, insured company car provided for all instruction and student pickups.
- 100% Fuel & Maintenance Covered: Zero vehicle expenses or wear-and-tear on your personal car.
- Competitive Compensation: $22.00–$25.00/hr. (Starting at $22.00/hr during initial alignment,
scaling up to $25.00/hr based on performance, punctuality, and client satisfaction).
- Daily Travel Bonus: 1-hour paid bonus for every completed 8-hour instructional day!
- Full Administrative Support: Student bookings, scheduling, and customer support are completely handled for you.
Strict Requirements:
- Driving History: Minimum of 5 years of clean driving experience in Canada (valid Class 5 license). No major violations or recent speeding tickets. Minimum of 4 years continued insurance in Canada required.
- Communication: Exceptional verbal English skills. You must be able to break down driving mechanics calmly and clearly while in a moving vehicle.
- Reliability: Strong punctuality and commitment to managing your daily lesson schedule and 24-hour administrative check-ins.
- Clearances: Clean criminal record check, vulnerable sector screening and driving abstract.
- Commitment: Willingness to commit to a 1-year contract.
