Equipment Operator – Sports Field Maintenance WorkerRegular Full-TimeResponsibilitiesWorking on the Sport Services Team, you will perform a variety of parks maintenance labour tasks, including assisting in the maintenance and repair of sports fields. You will use hand tools, line trimmers, backpack blowers and operate a wide range of maintenance equipment such as rotary deck mowers, tractors, loaders and various tractor attachments related to sport field maintenance activities. You will support over 45 grass, all weather and synthetic sport fields as well as large activity lawn turf in parks.Minimum QualificationsCompleted Grade 12 (mandatory Grade 10)Completion of basic turf grass and irrigation courses.Considerable equipment operation experience and experience in turf grass maintenance or equivalent combination of training and experience.Valid BC Driver’s License with satisfactory record.Preferred QualificationsA diploma in turf grass management.A Code 20 Heavy Trailer Endorsement.Experience operating large area mower/gang mower, tractor or front loader, snow removal equipment and/or truck and trailer.What We OfferThis CUPE position has an hourly rate of $36.72. The rate of pay is based on a variety of factors including qualifications, knowledge, experience and skills.
