Develop detailed conceptual plans, engineering designs, and electrical arrangement drawings for high‑voltage substations and related facilities. Provide engineering support throughout procurement, fabrication, and construction phases, ensuring compliance with design standards. Manage and coordinate projects with multidisciplinary engineering teams (electrical, civil, structural, mechanical).

Participate in the preparation of estimates, proposals, bids, and construction contract documents. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior staff members. Review and approve electrical designs, arrangement drawings, and vendor shop drawings for accuracy and compliance.

Prepare, review, and approve technical specifications for construction and installation work. Estimate construction costs (labor and materials) and support budget planning. Conduct site surveys, inspections, and technical investigations to gather data for engineering projects (must comply with PPE and safety requirements).

Ensure quality assurance and document control throughout the project lifecycle, supporting compliance and process improvement initiatives. Perform administrative and technical functions in support of engineering activities,



including reporting and scheduling. Coordinate BIM workflows for electrical arrangement design, ensuring accurate integration of models across disciplines.

Manage clash detection and resolve design conflicts using BIM tools. Maintain and update 3D models and ensure alignment with project standards and client requirements. Collaborate with clients and internal teams to clarify technical requirements and resolve design issues.

Stay updated on industry standards, emerging technologies, and best practices in electrical arrangement design. A university degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline (or equivalent experience).

Experience in project monitoring and coordination across multidisciplinary teams. Strong knowledge of electrical arrangement design principles (both theoretical and practical). In‑depth understanding of power generation, transmission, transformation, and distribution systems, including associated equipment and materials.

Familiarity with applicable electrical standards and regulations (CSA, OESC, IEEE, IEC). Working knowledge of AutoCAD (2D & 3D) and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).

Experience with BIM tools for integrated design workflows is highly desirable. Working knowledge of electrical analysis software for system studies and design validation. Strong communication skills (written and verbal) and ability to prepare explicit technical documentation.
