KTI Utility Services is thrilled to announce a project in the City of New Westminster and are seeking a self-starting individual to add to the electric meter installation team! The position involves strong mechanical aptitude and a valuable understanding of electric principles.
What’s in it for you?
- Full-time employment, 40hr/week average, with EI and CPP deductions
- Salary: Base of $46/hr + Piece Rate Bonuses
- Location: New Westminster, BC
- Contract Length: 3 months (with possible project extensions)
- Schedule: Monday-Friday, Saturday rotations possible
- Business KMs paid at $.68 cents/KM, paid monthly
- Training provided
What would your day look like as a Technician with KUS?
- Installation and service work related to electric meters.
- Installation of electric meters will be performed 10% outdoors, 90% indoor
- Recording old and new electric meter readings
- Coordinates installation scheduling and meets quality/quantity and safety requirements
- Digital data entry through an Electronic Work Order on a handheld device
- Self management of assigned accounts to completion
- Working in compliance with Health and Safety Policy/Procedures
- Communicate updates to clients with top-notch customer service
- Any other duties which may be assigned to you from time to time by your manager
Who is our ideal candidate?
- Red seal Electrician with experience in AMI (Advanced Metering Infrastructure)
- Familiarity with hand tools and power tools
- Mechanical aptitude and good report writing skills.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and customer service skills
- Able to stand on feet, bend or stoop for a prolonged period of time (10% outdoors, 90% indoors)
- Able to work with minimal supervision
- Previous electric meter installation experience is a plus.
Mandatory Requirements:
- Red Seal Electrician
- Valid driver’s license (N minimum) and a reliable vehicle (with a valid business insurance)
- Car Insurance: Business Use/Business Endorsement required, $2 million liability coverage
- Mandatory clean criminal background check and driver record/abstract
