Magna Mining is looking for a Mining Engineer to help plan, design, and optimize our underground mining operations.
From mine planning and production scheduling to ventilation, drill and blast, and operational analysis, you’ll work closely with site teams to turn technical plans into safe and efficient production.

What You’ll Be Doing
You’ll have the opportunity to:
- Assist with ventilation planning and monitoring to ensure safe working conditions.
- Support drill and blast design, ground support planning, and other technical aspects of underground mining operations.
- Develop and maintain short- and long-term mine plans aligned with production targets and operational requirements.
- Design underground mine layouts, including development headings, stopes, ventilation systems, and infrastructure.
- Prepare production schedules and coordinate with Operations to ensure mining activities align with planned targets.
- Monitor mining performance and analyze operational data to identify opportunities to improve productivity and efficiency.
- Conduct site inspections and work closely with Operations to ensure plans are executed safely and effectively.
- Prepare technical reports, mine plans, and operational documentation.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, company policies, and health and safety standards.
- Participate in risk assessments, incident investigations, and safety initiatives.
- Support cost control initiatives and evaluate operational efficiencies.
- Assist with the evaluation and implementation of new mining methods, technologies, and operational improvements.
Requirements
Who We’re Looking For
You might be a great fit if you:
- Have a Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering or a related discipline.
- Hold a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation or are eligible to obtain registration — considered an asset.
- Bring 3+ years of experience in underground mining operations or mine planning.
- Have experience with mine planning software such as Deswik, Vulcan, Datamine, or MineSight — considered an asset.
- Have strong technical knowledge of underground mining methods and mine planning.
- Understand mining regulations and safety standards.
- Bring strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Are detail-oriented and comfortable interpreting technical data.
- Communicate and collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
- Can manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Are committed to safety, operational excellence, and continuous improvement.
