With manufacturing facilities in Chicago, Canada, Mexico, China, and India we continue to be a fast-growing industrial manufacturer providing a full range of highly efficient transformer components. Our facility in Burlington Ontario has been in operation since 1975.

Our primary products out of this location are Wound Distributed Gap Cores, Mitre and Butt Lap Laminations, Logs and Fully Assembled Cores, Steel Sales, Custom Slitting and warehousing for Tempel Steel’s Laminations.

Job Summary:

The Health & Safety Administrator is responsible for supporting and promoting a secure, compliant, and productive work workplace through the administration, implementation, and continuous improvement of the organization's health and safety programs. This role plays a key role in workplace injury management, WSIB administration, and return-to-work coordination while ensuring compliance with applicable legislation and company policies. The Health & Safety Administrator works closely with employees, supervisors, healthcare providers, and regulatory agencies to foster a strong safety culture and support operational objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

Health & Safety Administration

- Coordinate and facilitate new employee health and safety orientation and onboarding programs.
- Maintain and update employee health and safety training records within the company database.
- Identify training requirements and coordinate health and safety training programs under the direction of management.
- Ensure compliance with the Ontario Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA) and related regulations.
- Maintain health and safety communication boards and ensure required postings are current and compliant.
- Coordinate Joint Health and Safety Committee (JHSC) meetings, inspections, and follow-up activities.
- Maintain Safety Data Sheet (SDS) binders and ensure information remains current and accessible.





Incident Management & Compliance

- Assist with investigations of workplace incidents, accidents, and near-misses to determine root causes and recommend corrective actions.
- Maintain accurate incident records and prepare reports for management.
- Conduct workplace risk assessments, safety audits, and inspections.
- Monitor corrective actions to ensure timely completion and effectiveness.
- Support special health and safety projects, including machine risk assessments, Job Task Analyses (JTA), and Physical Demands Analyses (PDA).

WSIB & Return-to-Work Administration

- Complete and submit WSIB Form 7 documentation and related claim paperwork.
- Manage WSIB claims from initial reporting through claim resolution.
- Coordinate workplace injury management and modified work programs.
- Work with Human Resources on non workplace injuries management and modified work programs.
- Develop, implement, and monitor individualized return-to-work plans in collaboration with employees, supervisors, healthcare providers, and WSIB representatives.
- Identify suitable modified duties that accommodate medical restrictions while meeting operational requirements.
- Monitor WSIB metrics, claim costs, lost-time injuries, and return-to-work outcomes, providing regular reports and recommendations.

Committee Participation & Continuous Improvement

- Actively participate as a member of the Joint Health and Safety Committee.
- Coordinate committee meetings, inspections, minutes, and action items.
- Promote employee awareness and engagement in health and safety initiatives.




- Support continuous improvement efforts to strengthen workplace safety performance and compliance.

General Duties

- Provide administrative support related to health and safety programs and initiatives.
- Maintain accurate and confidential records and documentation.
- Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
- Primarily an on-site position.

Qualifications: Education & Certifications

- Occupational Health & Safety Certificate, Diploma, or Undergraduate Degree with a concentration in Health and Safety.
- Valid CPR and First Aid Certification.
- Certified Joint Health and Safety Committee (JHSC) Representative preferred.

Experience

- Two to four years of health and safety experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience administering WSIB claims and return-to-work programs is considered an asset.

Skills & Competencies

- Strong knowledge of Ontario Occupational Health and Safety legislation and workplace safety best practices.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Effective problem-solving and analytical abilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to build positive working relationships with employees, management, healthcare providers, and regulatory agencies.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.

Working Conditions

- Primarily office-based within a manufacturing environment.
- Regular interaction with production, warehouse, and office personnel.
- Occasional participation in plant inspections, audits, and incident investigations.

Position Status: Vacant Position, Full Time, Permanent Pay: $78,000.00-$90,000.00 per year
