You'll Be Responsible For
- To be able to work with limited supervision within a team whilst adhering to estimating procedures.
- Collaborates with members of the team as required to ensure all aspects of the tender are considered.
- Manages benchmarking exercises to test the estimate.
- Oversees the quality assurance of estimates within the project ensuring they are fit for purpose.
- Communicates complex estimating and risk modelling data to leadership roles interpreting and providing recommendations for both a technical and non-technical audience.
- Coordinates and works in collaboration with Senior Leadership Team (SLT).
- Coaches and mentors team members of the team when required
- Adheres to compliance standards aligned with Mace governance processes.
- Works collaboratively towards the common goal of net zero carbon transition, and share responsibility for the proactive identification and management of the associated carbon emissions and reductions during the delivery of work.
You’ll Need To Have
- Strong knowledge of estimating principles, systems, methodologies, and best practices.
- Understanding of construction techniques, project delivery methods,
and cost drivers within the relevant sector.
- Experience in cost planning, tender estimates, benchmarking, and estimating assurance processes.
- Understanding of procurement strategies and contracting alternatives.
- Ability to review, challenge, and validate estimates to ensure they are accurate and fit for purpose.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and proficiency in cost estimating software and tools.
- Understanding of governance, compliance, and quality assurance requirements within project environments.
- Ability to liaise with and influence senior leadership and executive stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently with limited supervision while achieving strategic objectives and KPIs.
- Relevant degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Engineering, Cost Management, or a related discipline.
- Significant experience in estimating, cost management, tendering, or commercial management on major projects.
- Experience developing and reviewing estimates across the full project lifecycle.
- Professional membership or chartership (RICS, AACE, CIQS, ICE, or equivalent).
- Experience in major infrastructure, transportation, aviation, energy, or complex construction projects.
- Experience with quantitative risk analysis and advanced cost modelling techniques.
Note: The estimated salary for this position is 100,000 - 140,000 CAD. Starting salary may vary based on permissible, non-discriminatory factors such as experience, skills and qualifications.
