Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Excavator Operator specializing in Deep Services to join our dynamic construction team. In this role, you will be responsible for operating heavy excavation equipment to perform deep underground utility installations, trenching, and site preparation. Your expertise will ensure efficient, safe, and accurate excavation work that meets project specifications and safety standards.

Duties

- Operate excavators with precision to perform deep excavation tasks for utility installation, trenching, and site development projects
- Utilize auxiliary equipment such as dozers, loaders, backhoes, graders, and pavers to support excavation activities and site grading
- Apply mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot equipment issues promptly, ensuring minimal downtime during operations
- Conduct routine inspections of heavy equipment including Caterpillar excavators and other machinery to maintain optimal performance and safety compliance
- Coordinate with project managers and team members to plan excavation sequences and ensure adherence to project timelines




- Execute horizontal drilling operations when required for underground utility crossings or installations
- Maintain detailed records of excavation activities, equipment usage, and safety inspections

Qualifications

- Proven experience operating excavators in construction environments, particularly for deep services projects
- Strong mechanical knowledge of heavy equipment such as dozers, loaders, backhoes, graders, and pavers
- Demonstrated proficiency in operating Caterpillar machinery and other major brands of heavy equipment
- Ability to operate auxiliary construction equipment including horizontal drills, loaders, backhoes, and graders effectively
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) preferred for transporting equipment or materials between sites
- Knowledge of construction safety standards and best practices for heavy equipment operation
- Prior experience with underground utility installation or deep excavation projects highly desirable
