As Wayside House continues to grow, we are looking for a Facilities Manager & Supportive Housing Lead who is organized, dependable, hands-on and committed to making a difference.

This is a unique position combining facility and property operations with supportive housing coordination. It is well suited to someone who enjoys solving problems, building relationships and taking responsibility for ensuring that both facilities and housing services operate effectively.

The Prospect

Reporting to the Director of Operations & Strategic Initiatives, the Facilities Manager & Supportive Housing Lead helps ensure that Wayside House facilities are safe, welcoming, well maintained and operationally ready.

The position also plays a key role in our supportive housing program, working with management, landlords, housing providers, case management staff and community partners to maintain existing housing and identify new opportunities for men moving forward in recovery.

This is a practical, relationship-focused role. Some days may involve coordinating repairs, contractors or inspections. Others may involve working with a landlord, preparing a supportive housing unit, addressing a tenancy concern, managing supplies or helping ensure that our residential environment is ready for new admissions.

What You’ll DoFacilities & Property Operations

· Oversee the day-to-day condition, safety, cleanliness and functionality of Wayside House residential and supportive housing properties.

· Coordinate maintenance, repairs, inspections, preventative maintenance and contractors.

· Identify and respond to building, safety and operational concerns.

· Help ensure compliance with health, safety, fire, property and organizational requirements.

· Maintain appropriate maintenance, inspection and service records.

· Coordinate facility supplies, furnishings, equipment and inventories.





· Support food purchasing, deliveries, kitchen supplies and other residential operational needs.

Supportive Housing

· Help coordinate the day-to-day operation of Wayside House supportive housing.

· Build and maintain positive relationships with landlords, property owners, housing providers and community partners.

· Help identify and secure appropriate housing opportunities.

· Coordinate unit readiness, move-ins, move-outs, transfers and housing-related transitions.

· Maintain accurate housing, occupancy and landlord records.

· Coordinate rent supplement documentation, tracking and reporting.

· Work with management and program staff to address tenancy, property, rent or housing concerns before they threaten housing stability.

· Help residents understand and meet housing expectations and responsibilities while maintaining an approach based on dignity, respect and accountability.

· Support the continued growth and improvement of Wayside House’s supportive housing program.

Team & Organizational Support

· Work closely with leadership, program staff, case managers, landlords, contractors and community partners.

· Support residential admissions, room readiness and housing transitions.

· Assist with volunteers, special events, fundraising activities and other organizational initiatives when required.

· Keep management informed of emerging facility, housing, landlord, compliance or operational concerns.

· Contribute to a respectful, recovery-focused and solution-oriented workplace.

What You Bring

We are looking for someone with a combination of practical operational ability, strong organization and excellent relationship-building skills.

Ideally, you will have:

· 3–5 years of relevant experience in facilities, property management, supportive housing, housing services, residential programs, social services, hospitality or a related workplace.





· A diploma, certification or equivalent experience in Facilities Management, Property Management, Housing Services, Building Operations, Social Services or a related field.

· Experience working with landlords, property owners or housing providers.

· Experience coordinating maintenance, contractors, supplies, inventories or property operations.

· Strong organizational, documentation and problem-solving skills.

· Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to develop respectful and accountable working relationships.

· The ability to manage multiple priorities and respond calmly and effectively when issues arise.

· Comfort with hands-on tasks and practical operational responsibilities.

· Proficiency with Microsoft Office and the ability to maintain accurate records and reports.

Experience in supportive housing, healthcare, addiction treatment, mental health, social services or community-based organizations is considered an asset.
