The team oversees a broad and complex portfolio of non-financial risks—including Third-Party Risk, Crisis Management, Operational Resilience, Business Continuity Management, Physical Security Risk, and Fraud Risk—using a portfolio-based approach to identify cross-cutting themes, concentrations, and emerging resiliency impacts across Capital Markets. Operating in a fast-paced workplace, the team emphasizes precision, discipline, and high-quality execution.This role reports to the Director, Operational Risk & Resilience, Capital Markets.ResponsibilitiesPortfolio-Level Risk Advisory – Assign a portfolio of multiple and interlinked non-financial risk stripes tailored to expertise, experience, and interest; provide expert risk advisory and oversight of the Capital Markets Front Office non-financial risk profile across businesses, functions, and geographies; identify and assess risk concentrations, emerging issues, and thematic risks.Trusted Advisor – Engage with business stakeholders to promote effective risk management and mitigation strategies.Risk Reporting & Insight – Develop and deliver clear, concise,



and insightful first-line risk insight and analysis to senior management and governance forums; provide strategicrisk insights that go beyond the data by answering the "so what" – highlighting implications, emerging trends, and recommended actions to support informed, proactive decision-making.Relationship Building – Build and maintain strong relationships with Front Office business stakeholders, the first-line Centre of Excellence (CoE), and the second-line risk functions to ensure alignment of Capital Markets Front Office risk practices with enterprise risk and resilience frameworks; act as key liaison to facilitate effective communication, risk escalation, and coordinated risk management activities.Control Environment – Support design, implementation, and ongoing effectiveness of key controls related to non-financial risks; collaborate with business partners to identify control gaps, drive timely remediation, and implement sustainable enhancements; promote a cultureof continuous improvement.Risk Initiative / Projects – Execute short/long-term projects and initiatives (e.G., regulatory and audit remediation)



related to the portfolio; create and execute detailed plans and build positive stakeholder relationships within Capital Markets and across Corporate Support Areas.Communication – Communicate effectively at all levels of the organization, including senior executives; draft communications and run calls and meetings; represent CapitalMarkets at senior industry discussions, with regulators, and internal & external auditors; conduct ongoing self-study of Capital Markets, emerging regulatory and industry issues, BMO business priorities, and best practices.QualificationsUndergraduate degree in Business Administration, Risk Management, Economics, Finance, or a related background; graduate degree or skilled designation in a related discipline is an asset.Minimum 7+ years of experience in banking or financial services, including exposure to first-line internal control, in‑business risk management, governance, and/or second-line risk subject‑matter roles.Deep expertise in one or more non-financial risk and control areas (e.G., Transaction Processing, Operational Resilience & Business Continuity, Information & Cyber Security, Third-Party Risk, Fraud Risk, Physical Security Risk, Accounting/Financial Management, Regulatory Compliance & Reputational Risk).Demonstrated advanced technical understanding of Capital Markets Front Office products, services, and end-to-end business processes; proven experienceadvising and influencing within first-line of defense functions, with a track record of embedding risk ownership in Front Office business teams.Excellent communication, collaboration, and relationship management skills across technical and non-technical stakeholders.Salary: 69,000 - 129,000 CAD#J-18808-Ljbffr
