Community Traffic Control is seeking a confident, organized, and motivated Field Operations Manager to join our team for maternity leave coverage, with the potential for permanent employment following the leave period.

This is a hands-on management role overseeing the day-to-day field and operational requirements of a busy traffic control company. The successful candidate will be responsible for keeping multiple jobs, crews, clients, and operational priorities organized and moving forward.

We are looking for someone who can take ownership of the position, make decisions independently, solve problems as they arise, and keep operations running efficiently without requiring constant direction.

Key Responsibilities

- Oversee daily field operations, crew scheduling, and dispatch
- Coordinate staffing and operational requirements across multiple active job sites
- Communicate directly with clients, contractors, employees, and management
- Prepare estimates and assist with job costing and billing
- Review employee hours, timesheets, and work orders for accuracy
- Coordinate Traffic Management Plans (TMPs), permits, equipment, vehicles, travel, and accommodations
- Manage employee performance and day-to-day HR matters
- Assist with recruitment, onboarding, and employee training
- Maintain strong client relationships and respond to operational issues
- Support company safety, compliance, and documentation requirements
- Work closely with management and administrative staff to ensure jobs are properly coordinated from scheduling through billing
- Provide field support and attend job sites as required

Qualifications
- Previous management or operations experience
- Solid leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple changing priorities




- Comfortable managing employees, addressing performance issues, and making independent decisions
- Strong administrative and computer skills
- Experience in construction, traffic control, or a related industry
- Valid BCCSA Traffic Control Person (TCP) ticket
- Valid driver’s license
- Experience with Invarion RapidPlan is considered an asset
- Experience with traffic management plans, permitting, estimating, or dispatch is considered an asset

Position Details
- Full-time
- Salary starting at $70,000 - $75,000 annually, based on experience
- Benefits available after 3 months
- Based in West Kelowna, BC
- Expected start date: October/November 2026
- Training and transition period provided
- Maternity leave coverage with the potential for permanent employment

Who We’re Looking For This position requires someone who does not need to be micromanaged. Someone who can recognize what needs to be done, prioritize effectively, make decisions, solve problems, and take ownership of the operation.

Traffic control is a fast-moving industry, and priorities can change quickly. The right candidate will be able to remain organized and professional while managing employees, client requests, scheduling changes, field issues, and multiple active projects.
