Overview
We are seeking a Field Service Specialist – Controls/Instrumentation to support the assembly, installation, commissioning, and servicing of subsea control systems. This role involves both onshore workshop duties and frequent offshore field service assignments on rigs, platforms, and intervention vessels.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the operation, installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of subsea control equipment, following established manufacturing and operational practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate, service, and maintain the Offshore Master Control Station (SCADA Linux system), including live software updates, well commissioning, and troubleshooting.
- Perform maintenance and servicing of offshore Electrical and Hydraulic Power Units.
- Execute work orders involving site acceptance testing, pre-deployment testing, pressure testing, and post-mobilization activities.
- Support mobilization, demobilization, and testing of subsea controls equipment for both offshore and onshore operations.
- Safely operate hand, electric, pneumatic, and hydraulic tools, along with lifting equipment and overhead cranes.
- Deliver on-site technical support, including real-time data interpretation and system adjustments.
- Diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues in a fast-paced offshore setting.
- Assist in maintenance scheduling, job planning, and coordination with customer teams.
- Participate in an on-call rotation, providing after-hours technical support as required.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Electrical/Instrumentation Engineering Technology Diploma
- Familiarity with Linux operating systems and SCADA control systems.
- Working knowledge of hydraulic and mechanical systems.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting electrical and mechanical schematics.
- Strong computer skills, including use of standard office and OS software.
- Willingness and ability to travel frequently offshore and internationally, often on short notice.
- Fluent in English with strong written and verbal communication skills in technical settings.
- Must be able to complete Basic Safety Training, including underwater emergency escape and breathing apparatus use
Preferred Qualifications:
- 2+ years of relevant experience in:
- Offshore oil and gas operations.
- Linux and SCADA systems.
- Hydraulic and mechanical equipment.
- Interpretation and implementation of electrical/mechanical drawings
