About TWIGZ

TWIGZ is a growing Canadian snack brand with ambitions to establish itself as a leading pretzel brand across North America. As the business continues to scale across Canada and the U.S., we are building the finance organization and infrastructure required to support that growth.

We are looking for a Controller who will play a critical role in strengthening the accounting function, improving financial processes and controls, and ensuring the business has timely, accurate financial information to support decision-making.

This is an opportunity for an experienced accounting leader who enjoys being hands-on, building processes, and working closely with the business in a fast-growing environment.

The Opportunity

Reporting to the CFO, the Controller will own the day-to-day accounting function and financial reporting process.

The successful candidate will bring strong technical accounting and controllership experience while also having the curiosity and business orientation to understand why the numbers are moving, not simply report them.

As TWIGZ grows, this person will help build the systems, processes, controls, and team required to support the next stage of the company's growth.

- Review account reconciliations and ensure appropriate accounting treatment
- Prepare financial reporting packages for the CFO and leadership team

- Identify opportunities to automate and streamline finance processes
- Improve the efficiency and accuracy of the month-end close
- Develop appropriate approval and documentation processes
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies
- Support the implementation and optimization of finance systems, including NetSuite

Cash Flow & Working Capital

- Maintain visibility into cash flow and working capital
- Monitor AR collections and AP requirements

- Partner with the CFO on budgeting and forecasting
- Provide financial analysis and insight to support business decisions
- Develop and maintain key financial and operational reporting
- Partner with Sales, Operations, Supply Chain, and other functions to understand financial performance
- Help establish meaningful KPIs and performance metrics

Team Leadership

- Lead and develop the accounting team
- Establish explicit roles, responsibilities, and accountability
- Identify capability gaps and future hiring requirements
- Build a culture of accuracy, accountability, and continuous improvement
- Help develop the finance organization as TWIGZ scales
