Curves Kingston is looking for an energetic, dependable and member-focused Fitness Coach to join our team.

The Fitness Coach helps members build a healthier lifestyle by providing safe, effective and encouraging workout coaching, supporting individual goals and creating a positive club experience.

This is also a sales-focused position. The successful candidate will be comfortable speaking with prospective members, conducting membership consultations, following up with leads and helping grow the club through referrals, community outreach, promotions, social media and other local marketing initiatives.

We are looking for someone who genuinely enjoys working with people, can confidently communicate the value of our programs and is motivated to contribute to both member success and club growth.

Duties and Responsibilities

- Coach and motivate members throughout the Curves circuit in an energetic, approachable and encouraging manner.
- Monitor member safety, proper equipment use, exercise technique and overall engagement.
- Demonstrate and explain exercises and movements, including the muscle groups being worked and appropriate intensity or target heart-rate guidance.
- Provide exercise modifications when appropriate within Curves training and guidelines.
- Provide one-on-one coaching to new members during their first workouts and offer refresher coaching and ongoing support to existing members.
- Conduct member coaching sessions to review progress, celebrate successes, establish new goals and provide accountability and motivation.
- Coach specialty classes or circuits when scheduled and appropriately trained.
- Conduct membership consultations and presentations with prospective members.




- Identify a prospective member's needs and goals, explain available programs and pricing, answer questions, overcome reasonable objections and confidently ask for the sale.
- Complete membership agreements and accurately enter required member information into the Curves operating system.
- Follow up with leads, prospects, appointments and no-shows by phone, text or other approved communication methods.
- Encourage referrals and participate in community outreach, promotions, guest-generation activities and other club growth initiatives.
- Assist with Curves Kingston social media and local marketing, including capturing member success stories, photos or video content, promotions and club updates in accordance with privacy, consent and brand guidelines.
- Provide excellent member service and help create a welcoming, positive and supportive club workplace.
- Assist with routine club administration, membership renewals, holds or cancellations, transaction entries and other assigned duties.
- Assist with opening and closing procedures and light cleaning to maintain a professional and welcoming facility.
- Complete required Curves training, staff meetings and continuing education.

Qualifications

- Strong customer service and relationship-building skills.
- Comfortable with sales, lead follow-up and asking for the sale.
- Motivated by goals and willing to actively contribute to membership growth.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Dependable, organized and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Comfortable learning computer-based membership and club management systems.
- An interest in fitness, health and helping others achieve their goals.
- Previous experience in fitness, customer service, membership sales, retail sales or another client-facing environment is an asset.
- Experience with sales, marketing or social media content creation is an asset.
- Fitness certification or previous coaching experience is an asset but is not required where Curves training can be provided.
- Must be willing to complete required Curves training and follow established coaching, safety and brand standards.
- Current CPR/AED certification is required. Training may be provided to the successful candidate if certification is not already held.

What We're Looking For The ideal candidate is someone who can make members feel comfortable and supported while also recognizing that a successful fitness club needs consistent sales and marketing activity. You should be equally comfortable encouraging a member through a workout, speaking with a prospective member about her goals, following up on a lead and helping create engaging content that showcases the Curves Kingston community. Pay: $17.95-$21.00 per hour

Expected hours: 10.0 – 20.0 per week
