Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced Flight Control Systems IPT Head to lead the Flight Control Systems Integrated Product Team and support the development, integration, validation, and certification of aircraft flight control systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the Flight Control Systems (FCS) Integrated Product Team (IPT) and ensure alignment with aircraft program milestones.
- Own scope, schedule, cost, quality, and technical delivery for Flight Control Systems programs.
- Coordinate with Aerodynamics, Structures, Avionics, Software, Systems, Integration, and V&V; teams.
- Serve as the primary technical interface with customers, suppliers, and program stakeholders.
- Define Flight Control System architecture, including fly-by-wire/fly-by-light systems, actuation systems, sensors, and associated interfaces.
- Lead control law development, stability & control analysis, flight dynamics modeling, gain scheduling, and redundancy management.
- Ensure system development complies with ARP4754A and ARP4761.
- Develop and manage System Requirement Documents (SRD), control laws, simulation models, and Interface Control Documents (ICD).
- Lead MIL, SIL, and HIL integration and validation activities.
- Oversee ground testing, Iron Bird testing, and flight test support.
- Ensure seamless integration of FCS with avionics,
sensors, actuation systems, cockpit interfaces, and other aircraft systems.
- Lead certification activities in accordance with FAA, EASA, and DGCA regulations.
- Ensure software and hardware compliance with DO-178C and DO-254.
- Manage certification deliverables including PSAC, PHAC, SAS, safety assessments, compliance matrices, and compliance reports.
- Interface with certification authorities, DERs, and ARs.
- Conduct system safety analyses including FHA, FMEA, and FTA.
- Drive fail-protected, fail-operational, fault-tolerant, and redundant FCS architectures.
- Present technical solutions, performance metrics, risks, issues, and mitigation plans to stakeholders.
- Support RFQs, proposals, technical solutioning, effort estimation, and technical reviews.
- Ensure adherence to configuration control and engineering change management processes.
- Identify and mitigate technical and integration risks while managing dependencies across multiple IPTs.
- Lead distributed onsite/offshore engineering teams and ensure timely program delivery.
Qualifications Bachelor's or Master's degree in:
