FLOATER - CERTIFIED DENTAL ASSISTANT

Full Time | Team Support & Room Turnover Focus

Smile Up Dental is looking for a Certified Level II Dental Assistant – FLOATER to join our modern, friendly, and team-oriented dental practice. This position is ideal for a proactive, energetic Dental Assistant who loves being the person the team can rely on. The primary focus of this role is to float throughout the office and provide hands-on support to our hygienists and dental assistants, ensuring rooms are turned over efficiently, stocked, cleaned, and fully prepared for the next patient.

You will play an significant role in keeping the day running smoothly and helping our clinical team stay on schedule YOUR MAIN ROLE — THE FLOATER. As our Floater Dental Assistant, your primary responsibility will be to support the entire clinical team wherever help is needed.

· Float between hygiene and dental treatment rooms to provide support where needed

· Turn over hygiene rooms quickly and efficiently between patients

· Clean, disinfect, and prepare rooms according to infection-control protocols

· Set up hygiene rooms and treatment rooms for the next patient

· Restock supplies and ensure rooms are fully prepared

· Assist the main Dental Assistant with room turnover and treatment setup

· Help with sterilization and ensure instruments and equipment are properly processed

· Anticipate what the hygienist or dentist will need and be proactive with support

· Help keep clinical areas organized, clean, and running efficiently

· Jump in to assist other team members during busy periods

· Support the team to help maintain smooth patient flow and stay on schedule

ADDITIONAL CLINICAL RESPONSIBILITIES

· Assist the dentist during a variety of treatment procedures

· Navigate dental software for post-treatment care, charting, and documentation





· Help patients feel comfortable before, during, and after treatment

· Take intraoral photographs

· Complete iTero scans

· Assist with Invisalign procedures and scans

· Inventory and supply management

· Sterilization and infection control

· Other duties as assigned by dentists or team members THE PERSON WE'RE LOOKING FOR

· Certified Level II Dental Assistant

· HARP approved

· Minimum 2 years of dental assisting experience

· Highly organized with strong attention to detail

· Takes direction well and follows through

· Energetic, dependable, and proactive

· Excellent communication skills

· Works well as part of a team

· Takes pride in keeping rooms clean, organized, and ready

· Can anticipate the needs of the dentist, hygienist, and other assistants

· Comfortable jumping in wherever the team needs support

· Knowledge and experience with Invisalign and iTero scans

· Comfortable taking intraoral photographs and photos and Blood pressure

· Positive attitude and contributes to an awesome team atmosphere

Expected hours: 38.0 – 55.0 per week
