We are looking for a Food Processing Operator to join our Canadian team.
Location: Oshawa, ON (near Oshawa GO & GM Plant)
Type: Full time | on-site | 9am to 5pm.
Job Overview
As a Food Processing Operator you are a vital part of our manufacturing process, in this role you will be responsible for operating blending equipment, ensuring effective production, and maintaining high standards of food safety and sanitation. Your attention to detail and process oriented approach will help us deliver quality products while adhering to safety protocols.
Duties (Training will be provided).
- Operate food processing machinery and equipment to produce high-quality food products efficiently.
- Measure and mix ingredients according to production recipes.
- Complete production and quality-control records.
- Ensure proper labeling and presentation of blended products.
- Use forklifts safely to move raw materials, finished products, and packaging supplies within the facility.
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of work areas, adhering to strict food safety standards.
- Use the floor scrubber on a regular basis to complete the cleaning and sanitization protocols.
- Perform routine mechanical checks and basic troubleshooting on equipment to prevent downtime.
- Follow all safety procedures, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and sanitation protocols.
- Assist with inventory management by recording production data and monitoring stock levels using basic math skills.
- Attend weekly staff calls to align and plan for the upcoming week.
Skills
- Forklift certification or the ability to obtain it upon hire (Mandatory).
- Knowledge of food processing operations and sanitation practices (preferred). If not training will be provided.
- Mechanical knowledge to perform routine maintenance and troubleshoot equipment issues.
- Experience with packaging processes in a food industry or manufacturing setting (preferred). If not training will be provided.
- Strong attention to detail for quality control and safety compliance.
- Basic data entry & Microsoft Office skills for inventory tracking, measurements, and data recording.
- Understanding of food safety standards and procedures to ensure product integrity.
Qualifications
- College or Trade School diploma or University Degree (preferred).
- Positive, "can-do" attitude.
- Excellent leadership ability with a focus on plant and business processes.
- Ability to identify key issues and creatively and strategically overcome internal challenges or obstacles Effective attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.
- High level of integrity, confidentiality, and accountability.
- Strong communication and conflict-resolution skills.
- Sound analytical thinking, planning, prioritization, and execution skills.
- A well-defined sense of diplomacy, including solid negotiation, conflict resolution, and people management skill.
