Applications are reviewed on an ongoing basis, and qualified candidates may be contacted as positions become available.Why Work at Belkin House – Grace Manor MansionGrace Mansion Belkin House is a well-established Transitional Housing Community Residential Facility in Vancouver, known for its commitment to protected, stable housing for individuals who are at risk of experiencing homelessness, reintegration, accountability, and respect.The team plays a critical role in supporting individuals as they work through barriers that may have contributed to lack of housing, as well as help residents build supports in the community and gain skills that will lead to breaking the cycle of homelessness. working closely with the Correctional Service of Canada and community partners.Position PurposeThe Residential Casual Support Worker (On-Call) supports residents of Grace Mansion Manor in their personal development, life skills, and overall well‑being within a transitional housing environment. The role focuses on providing supervision, administrative support, and compassionate assistance to help residents work toward stability, independence, and their full potential, while upholding The Salvation Army’s Mission, Values, and policies.Key ResponsibilitiesResident Support & SupervisionSupervise and monitor resident activity during assigned shiftsRespond to resident inquiries in accordance with Centre policies and proceduresSupport residents during physical, emotional, or mental health crisesProvide initial response to emergencies (e.G., fire alarms, critical incidents)Help clients connect to supports in the community and with meeting personal goalsComplete wellness and building safety checks.Administrative & Intake SupportAnswer phones and direct inquiries appropriatelyAdmit visitors according to established guidelinesAssist with resident intake, departures, applications, and waitlist updatesMaintain accurate files, records, and statisticsReceive resident rent and secure funds according to written protocols, when required.Community & Resource CoordinationResearch and maintain knowledge of issues impacting residentsSupport connections with Salvation Army programs, government services,



and community agenciesAssist with coordination of resources to support resident stability and growth.Professional Conduct & Team CollaborationMaintain confidentiality and professional boundaries at all timesWork collaboratively with Program Manager, Case Workers, Chaplain, and support staffPerform additional duties as assigned by the Program Manager.Education & ExperienceEducation & CertificationsHigh school diploma requiredPost‑secondary education in a related field is an assetFirst Aid / CPR certificationNon‑Violent Crisis Intervention (or willingness to be trained)Addictions and/or Mental Health training (or willingness to be trained)WHMISFOODSAFE Level 1 (or willingness to be trained).ExperienceMinimum 10 months’ experience in a residential or supportive housing settingWorking knowledge of Word, Outlook, and Excel.Skills & CapabilitiesStrong organization, problem‑solving, and communication skillsAbility to de‑escalate individuals in stressful situationsHigh standards of integrity, confidentiality, and professionalismAbility to work independently and exercise sound judgmentCriminal Record Review Act clearance to work with vulnerable adultsCompensation StatementThe target hiring range for this position is $22.92 to $28.64 with a maximum of $34.37.CompensationPlacement in the salary range will be based on factors such as market conditions, internal equity, and candidate experience, skills, and qualifications relevant to the role.The Salvation Army will provide reasonable accommodation upon request.
