In our Merchandising & Transportation Development Program, you’ll gain hands‑on experience across key areas of our business while developing a strong understanding of supply chain operations, commodity movement, and commercial decision‑making. Through exposure to logistics, trucking and warehousing, rail or marine transportation, you’ll play an important role supporting the movement of agricultural and food and ingredient products through domestic and global supply chains. Responsibilities
Begin the program in our transportation department where you’ll gain practical experience in transportation planning, logistics coordination and supply chain execution. Future rotations may include: Rail transportation shipping or marine export documentation Demand forecasting and network supply planning Country operations at a Richardson Pioneer Ag Business Centre gaining experience in grain origination, crop input sales, and customer relationship management Corporate crop inputs supporting seed, fertilizer, and crop protection programs Merchandising teams supporting grain origination, futures commodity hedging, or commodity market analysis The program is designed to provide real‑world experience,
cross‑functional development, and exposure to global commodity markets. The program provides a pathway for growth into progressively responsible roles that support the movement of Canadian agricultural products through global supply chains. Qualifications
Recent graduate of a Business, Agribusiness, International Business, Supply Chain Management or related degree program Interest in international business, merchandising, transportation and supply chain Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills Strong sense of initiative with the ability to handle multiple priorities Ability and willingness to temporarily relocate for the program Additional language skills such as French, Spanish, Mandarin considered an asset Richardson provides an excellent compensation package consisting of market-competitive salary, pension, a flexible benefits plan and training and career development opportunities.
