Vor-Tech Services Inc. is seeking an experienced Foreman / Journeyperson Electrician to join our team and take a leadership role on commercial electrical projects throughout the GTA and surrounding areas.

This is a hands-on leadership position for an experienced electrician who is comfortable running projects, directing crews, coordinating with general contractors and other trades, and taking ownership of the electrical work from mobilization through completion.

The successful candidate will have strong technical knowledge, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to plan ahead and keep projects moving efficiently while maintaining a high standard of workmanship and safety.

Responsibilities

- Lead and supervise electricians and apprentices on active construction projects
- Plan and coordinate daily and upcoming work to maintain project schedules
- Perform electrical installation work alongside the crew as required
- Read and interpret electrical drawings, specifications, schematics and construction documents
- Coordinate electrical installations with general contractors, consultants and other trades
- Conduct layout and oversee installation of electrical distribution, lighting, controls, fire alarm and related systems
- Monitor workmanship and ensure installations comply with project specifications and applicable electrical codes
- Identify drawing conflicts, site conditions, additional work and potential changes, and communicate them promptly to the Project Manager
- Track labour, materials, project progress and outstanding work
- Coordinate material and equipment requirements to ensure the crew has what is needed to maintain productivity




- Participate in site meetings and communicate professionally with clients, consultants and general contractors when required
- Coordinate ESA inspections and assist with deficiencies and project close-out
- Ensure company and site-specific health and safety requirements are followed
- Maintain a clean, organized and professional jobsite
- Take ownership of the project and help drive it successfully from start to finish

Requirements
- Valid 309A Construction & Maintenance Electrician Licence
- Minimum 5 years of commercial electrical construction experience preferred
- Previous experience as an electrical Foreman, Lead Hand or in a similar supervisory role
- Robust knowledge of the Ontario Electrical Safety Code
- Strong ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and specifications
- Experience with commercial and/or institutional electrical construction
- Ability to effectively lead and organize electricians and apprentices
- Strong understanding of construction sequencing and coordination with other trades
- Ability to identify problems early and develop practical solutions in the field
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Comfortable communicating with Project Managers, General Contractors and site supervision
- Ability to accurately document site progress, changes and additional work




- Valid driver's licence and reliable transportation
- Strong commitment to safety, quality and professional workmanship

Experience with Bluebeam, Procore or similar construction software is considered an asset but is not required. Experience with service and distribution equipment, fire alarm systems, lighting controls, emergency lighting and commercial renovations is also considered an asset.
