Hampton Lumber is a thriving family-owned company aspiring to be North America's preferred source for responsibly sourced wood solutions. Headquartered in Portland, Oregon, we operate nine sawmills in Western Oregon, Washington, and British Columbia. We also manage timberland and operate a wholesale and import/export division. In British Columbia, Hampton operates a sawmill in Fort St. James and two sawmills in Burns Lake.

Position Summary The Forestry Supervisor is responsible for planning, coordinating, supervising, and executing forest operations and support functions for our sawmills. You will manage contractors, personnel, budgets, and compliance obligations to deliver fibre to your sawmills in a safe, environmentally responsible, and cost-effective manner. You will serve as an interface with Government agencies, Indigenous communities, local stakeholders, and internal departments (e.g. procurement, planning, mill logistics).

Your scope and key responsibilities include oversight of road and bridge construction and maintenance, cut block development, harvesting operations, and quality control of delivered logs. You will also monitor performance, costs,



and drive continuous improvement in wood supply operations.

Duties

- Supervise and coordinate forestry activities, including planting, thinning, pruning, and harvesting operations.
- Oversee heavy equipment operations, including chainsaws, skid steers, and other machinery used in forestry and landscape projects.
- Conduct site inspections to assess forest health, soil conditions, and compliance with environmental regulations.
- Manage maintenance of tools, equipment, and vehicles to ensure safety and operational readiness.
- Utilize GIS (Geographic Information Systems) technology to map forest areas, track project progress, and analyze spatial data.
- Assist in landscape maintenance tasks such as planting, mulching, irrigation setup, and general groundskeeping.
- Ensure all safety protocols are followed by team members during field operations and equipment use.
- Registered Professional Forester (RPF) or Registered Forest Technologist (RFT), or equivalent registration in the relevant province, or eligible for registration.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in forest operations, woodlands management, or harvest supervision




- Self-motivated team player with a strong work ethic and ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
- Experience working in forest-based industries, preferably supplying to sawmills.
- Demonstrated experience in contract management, budgeting, cost control, and operational supervision.

Qualifications & Experience

- Registered Professional Forester (RPF) or Registered Forest Technologist (RFT), or equivalent registration in the relevant province, or eligible for registration.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in forest operations, woodlands management, or harvest supervision
- Self-motivated team player with a strong work ethic and ability to work both independently and in a team workplace.
- Experience working in forest-based industries, preferably supplying to sawmills.
- Demonstrated experience in contract management, budgeting, cost control, and operational supervision.
