We are looking for a skilled Forklift Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have proven experience operating forklifts in a rapid-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Loading and Unloading: Load and unload steel from trucks, trailers, or enclosed trucks, and storage areas.
- Documentation: Assist in the preparation of shipping documentation such as pick lists, packing lists and creating tags
- Inventory Coordination: Organizing steel in yard.
- Team Collaboration: Assisting Shipping / Receiving coordinator supervisors to meet operational goals.
- Familiarity with safety regulations related to operating heavy machinery.
- Keeping the yard organized.
Requirements
- Valid forklift operator certification is required.
- Proven experience operating forklifts in industrial setting (off road) is preferred.
- Fluent in English.
- Some computer skills.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
- Physical stamina and strength to lift heavy loads (up to 50 pounds).
- Familiarity with safety regulations and best practices in material handling.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience operating forklifts in a warehouse or industrial setting is required. 1-3 years of experience.
- Forklift certification is required.
- Ability to adapt to difficult conditions and moments of high stress situations.
- Exceptional forklift driving skills.
- Fluent in English with excellent communication skills.
- Some computer knowledge.
- Ability to lift and move packages of various sizes, up to 50lbs.
- Competitive hourly wage. $21/hour to start after 3-month probation $25/hour.
- 7am-3pm
- Monday to Friday.
