As Front Desk Manager at The Squamish Adventure Inn, you will be the face and first point of contact of our Hostel, engaging with guests from all over the world and ensuring they have an exceptional stay. This multifaceted role involves the following key day-to-day responsibilities:

We are the Squamish Adventure Inn and we want YOU to liven up the place. This is a Management position, but don’t worry, it’s not lonely at the top. You’ll be working with an amazing team of full-time supervisors and part time Crew from around the world.

Customer Service & Check-ins/Check-outs:

- Provide outstanding customer service to guests – addressing inquiries, concerns, and requests promptly and professionally.
- As the face of the Hostel, you will act as a liaison between guests and Management to ensure seamless communication and resolution of issues and/or complaints.
- Efficiently handle guest check-ins and check-outs, ensuring accurate record keeping, payment handling and explaining the Hostel’s rules and requirements.
- Suggesting activities and recommendations to guests, with a focus on our activity partners.
- Help generate positive reviews and direct bookings
- Maintain a well-organized and visually appealing merchandise display and reception area

Housekeeping Support:

- Aid housekeeping department with daily tasks, including laundry and cleaning common areas.
- Collaborate with housekeeping to ensure a high standard of cleanliness and comfort for guests.
- Regularly tidy, clean and organize all common spaces throughout your shift.

Crew Oversight Support:

- Aid the General Manager and Housekeeping Manager with fostering a positive,



team-oriented work environment for the crew staff that reflects the Inn’s community values.
- Help with scheduling, training, and onboarding new staff members.

Social Media & Marketing/Partnerships Management:

- Manage social media accounts—creating engaging posts, stories, and content that showcase the adventure lifestyle. Curate posts and stories relevant to the Hostel whilst staying within a predetermined framework.
- Maintain partnerships with local tour operators, adventure companies, cafés, and community organizations.
- Reply to messages on the Hostel’s official accounts and interact with other local businesses

COMPENSATION We pay our entire team by the hour, not salary, and there’s a very good reason for this. Big businesses love salaried jobs because it allows them to give the Management team tons of overtime and not pay an extra dollar. We compensate our team for every hour worked and every time they’re called in. We want you to go adventuring in Squamish!

The starting salary begins at $26.00/hr and is reviewed annually. Additionally, we offer a generous bonus structure including annual performance incentives. This is a career position with a small family-owned business!

WORK SCHEDULE

Permanent Full-Time (30-35 hours per week, usually around 35) and generally you’ll work 10am to 6pm (Thursday to Monday). You’ll have less competition on the trails and craigs on your days off!

JOB QUALIFICATIONS (GOTTA HAVES):

- Fluent English (speaking and writing).
- Extra languages are a bonus! Housekeeping Experience (ideally in a supervisory/training role)
- Customer Service Experience
- Criminal Background Check
- Valid Driver’s license and vehicle
- Basic computer skills
- Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident
- Living in or willing to relocate to Squamish, BC – The Adventure Capital of Canada!
