Furniture Spot & Mattress Outlet is a locally owned Halifax furniture and mattress store operating since 2016. We are looking for a reliable, careful and hardworking employee to join our delivery and warehouse team.

This is a permanent, full-time position involving furniture delivery, furniture assembly and general warehouse work. The successful candidate must be comfortable working inside customers’ homes and representing the company professionally.

Pay: $21–$23 per hour, based on relevant experience

Hours: Approximately 37.5 hours per week

Location: 3606 Strawberry Hill Street, Halifax, NS

Responsibilities

- Drive a 16-foot cube van and complete furniture and mattress deliveries throughout Halifax Regional Municipality
- Inspect, load, secure and unload furniture carefully to prevent damage
- Carry furniture into customers’ homes while protecting floors, walls, doorways and the merchandise
- Assemble beds, bedroom furniture, dining sets, sectionals and other furniture correctly
- Communicate professionally with customers and obtain required delivery confirmations
- Report damages, missing parts or delivery problems immediately
- Receive incoming products, organize warehouse inventory and prepare customer orders
- Assist with customer pickups and safely load merchandise into customer vehicles
- Complete daily vehicle inspections and keep the delivery van and warehouse clean and organized




- Work cooperatively with the delivery team, warehouse staff and store management

Requirements
- Valid Nova Scotia Class 5 driver’s licence and an acceptable driving record
- Experience driving a cube van or similar-sized vehicle is strongly preferred
- Practical furniture assembly experience is required
- Previous furniture delivery, moving or warehouse experience is strongly preferred
- Ability to repeatedly lift and carry up to 75 pounds and team-lift heavier furniture
- Reliable attendance, punctuality and a solid work ethic
- Careful handling skills and attention to detail
- Professional communication and customer-service skills
- Ability to follow instructions and work without constant supervision
- Availability for daytime shifts, including Saturdays when scheduled
- Willingness to provide a driver’s abstract and employment references
