Norwest Precision Ltd., a New Era Group company, is seeking a qualified and experienced General Labourer to join our team at our North York facility. This position reports directly to the Vice President, General Manager and Production Manager.

Position Summary

This a hands-on support role responsible for deburring, cleaning, and finishing machined and fabricated components, as well as assisting with general production tasks across the shop floor. This role requires attention to detail, consistency, and a strong work ethic.

The Production Assistant supports machine operators and the production team by preparing, moving, and finishing parts, maintaining a clean and organized work area, and following established quality and safety standards. This position is accountable for producing consistent, quality finished parts and for supporting the overall flow of production.

This is a hands-on, physically active role requiring daily engagement with machined and fabricated parts, tools, and shop floor equipment.

Duties & Responsibilities

Deburring and Finishing

· Deburr, clean, and finish machined and fabricated components using hand tools, power tools, and deburring equipment.

· Inspect parts visually for burrs, sharp edges, and surface defects, correcting as needed.

· Follow work instructions and specifications to ensure parts meet quality requirements.





· Package and label finished parts appropriately for the next production stage or shipment.

· General Production Support

· Assist machine operators with part loading and unloading, staging, and material handling as required.

· Move materials, parts, and components between work areas using appropriate equipment.

· Support setup and changeover activities as directed by supervisors or operators.

· Assist with basic assembly tasks as required.

· Housekeeping & Organization

· Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in accordance with company 5S standards.

· Properly store tools, materials, and parts in designated locations.

· Report low stock levels of consumables or supplies to the appropriate supervisor.

Quality and Safety

· Follow all quality procedures and report any nonconforming parts to the supervisor or Quality Control team.

· Follow all health and safety policies and procedures, including the proper use of personal protective equipment.

· Report any safety hazards, near misses, or equipment issues promptly.

· Cross-Functional Collaboration

· Work closely with machine operators, Quality Control inspectors, and production supervisors to support workflow.

· Communicate effectively with team members to ensure tasks are completed on time.

· Perform additional duties as assigned.

· Follow all quality procedures and report any nonconforming parts to the supervisor or QC team.

· Follow all health and safety policies and procedures, including proper use of PPE.

· Report any safety hazards, near misses,



or equipment issues promptly.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

· Work closely with machine operators, QC inspectors, and production supervisors to support workflow.

· Communicate effectively with team members to ensure timely completion of tasks.

· Perform additional duties as assigned.

Skills, Qualifications & Experience

· Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and deburring equipment safely and effectively.

· Solid attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.

· Ability to stand, bend, and lift for extended periods and lift between 25 and 50 lbs as required.

· Reliable, punctual, and able to work well both independently and as part of a team.

· Willingness to learn new tasks and take direction from supervisors and senior staff.

· Basic understanding of workplace health and safety practices.

· Willingness and flexibility to work extended hours as required to support production schedules.

· Good communication skills and a positive, team-oriented attitude.

Pay: $25.00-$30.00 per hour
