Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated and dependable General Labourer specializing in asphalt and concrete works to join our dynamic construction team. In this role, you will be instrumental in supporting various phases of construction projects, ensuring that asphalt paving, concrete pouring, and related tasks are executed efficiently and safely. Your hands-on approach and attention to detail will contribute significantly to the successful completion of infrastructure projects, paving the way for community development and improved transportation networks.

Duties

- Assist with site preparation, including clearing, leveling, and setting up work zones for asphalt and concrete applications

- Operate hand tools, power tools, and heavy equipment safely to assist with asphalt laying and concrete finishing tasks

- Mix, pour, spread, and smooth concrete according to project specifications while adhering to safety standards

- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction drawings to ensure accurate execution of work

- Support carpentry tasks such as form building for concrete pours and installation of barriers or curbs

- Perform routine maintenance on tools and equipment to ensure optimal operation throughout the project lifecycle





- Follow safety protocols diligently to maintain a secure work environment for all team members

Skills

- High compliance with safety procedures

- Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and heavy equipment related to asphalt and concrete work

- Prior construction experience with a focus on asphalt paving or concrete finishing preferred

- Knowledge of concrete forming techniques and finishing methods

- Basic understanding of construction estimating processes is a plus

- Skilled in carpentry, drywall installation, caulking, masonry, welding, flooring installation, tile laying, electrical work or plumbing is advantageous

- Experience operating heavy machinery such as skid steers or compactors is desirable

- Strong physical stamina with the ability to lift heavy materials and stand for extended periods
