Job SummaryProvide general labor support to City work crews in the maintenance of parks, landscaping, and related tasks. Duties include mowing lawns, trimming hedges, cleaning grounds, assisting with irrigation systems, snow removal, operating service truck, and performing related manual tasks.ResponsibilitiesCut and water grass using a power lawnmower and power edger, as required.Clean grounds of miscellaneous debris.Assist gardeners in maintaining and pruning flowers, trees, shrubs, and laying sod, and repairing damaged turf.Assist in the installation, repair, or replacement of underground sprinkling systems, as required.Work on annual beach clean‑up and clear weeds from the lake, as required.Remove dead and damaged trees and shrubs, as directed.Sharpen and maintain hand tools, as required.Complete miscellaneous labor tasks such as cutting trees, emptying litter bins, sweeping sidewalks, and raking leaves.Shovel snow and explicit sidewalks around civic buildings.Drive service truck to collect parks garbage, grass and tree cuttings, and similar refuse.Assist in landscaping parks and boulevards, including levelling and raking topsoil, seeding, laying sod,



and irrigating.Use other hand‑operated tools such as portable pumps, motorized compactor, power saw, rototiller, jackhammer, compressor, etc.Perform related work as required.QualificationsGood physical condition with sufficient strength and stamina to perform heavy manual work.Ability to work well with other employees, the general public, and employees of other companies.Necessary knowledge of sprinkler system installations, repair, and maintenance.Elementary knowledge of parks and ground maintenance techniques, particularly as they pertain to turf maintenance and repair.Work EnvironmentHours: 6:30 AM to 5:00 PM, Wednesday to Saturday.
