McKenzie Group of Companies is seeking an experienced, dependable and hardworking Grounds Keeper / General Labourer to join our team.

This is a year-round, full-time position, averaging approximately 40–44 hours per week, with the potential for overtime during peak seasons.

The position will primarily consist of lawn and grounds care, general labour and other hands-on work as required. We are a family-oriented company that values hard work, loyalty and long-term relationships with our employees.

Responsibilities

- Lawn cutting, trimming and edging to a high standard.
- Fertilizing and seasonal lawn care.
- Garden and landscape maintenance.
- Weeding, pruning, watering and seasonal planting.
- Spring and fall property clean-ups.
- Snow removal, shovelling, plowing and salting.
- Maintain company and estate grounds in a clean, well-kept and highly presentable condition.
- General property maintenance and clean-up.
- General labour and site clean-up.
- Load, unload and move materials, tools and equipment.
- Supplier and material pick-ups and deliveries.
- General service and repair work.
- Maintain and clean lawn, snow-removal and other small equipment.
- Other general labour and maintenance duties as required.

Requirements

- Previous hands-on experience in professional grounds maintenance, turf care, landscaping, property maintenance or a similar role is required.
- Valid Ontario full G driver's licence with a clean driving abstract is required.
- Strong attention to detail and pride in quality of work.




- Knowledge of lawn and turf care practices.
- Experience operating professional lawn and grounds maintenance equipment.
- Comfortable operating snow removal equipment.
- Comfortable using common hand and power tools.
- Physically capable of performing demanding manual labour.
- Able to safely lift, carry, load and move materials and equipment.
- Comfortable working outdoors in all seasons and weather conditions.
- Reliable, hardworking and able to follow direction.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Experience or skills in any of the following would be considered an asset:
- Golf course, sports field or high-end estate grounds maintenance.
- Small engine mechanics and repair.
- Heavy equipment operation.
- General construction labour.
- Equipment maintenance and repair.

This is a year-round position with consistent full-time hours. The successful candidate can expect approximately 40–44 hours per week, with additional overtime potentially available during peak seasons. A highly competitive wage and advantages package will be offered to the successful candidate based on experience and qualifications.

Pay: $24.00-$29.00 per hour
