Tech Talent International (TTI) supplies technical talent to a variety of clients ranging from Fortune (phone hidden) companies to startups, small and mid-sized organizations in Canada/US. We are currently hiring a Guidewire Solution Architecture Advisor for our consulting client, working on a long term contract with a large client.
Role: Guidewire Solution Architecture Advisor
Rate Range: $90 - $95 /hr as Incorporated Contractor (37.5 hrs /week) - - some flexibility on final rate for senior level Guidewire consultants with great solution architecture experience
Duration: 8 months + extensions
Location: Remote - Montreal, Quebec

APPLICATION SOLUTION ARCHITECT / ADVISOR
- Start Date: As soon as possible
The Solution Design Directorate (DCS) oversees the application architecture of IT solutions for the Property & Casualty Insurance sector. This team is looking for a versatile Solution Architect Advisor to work on business and IT evolution projects. In this role, you will play a key part in defining, designing, and evolving the sector's technology solutions. You will address business needs, ensure solution alignment with the existing architecture and target roadmap, and produce the required architectural deliverables.
You will collaborate closely with business stakeholders, management, as well as project teams and squads.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and document the functional capabilities required to meet business needs.
- Determine the applications and services involved in the solutions and evaluate their impacts (coexistence, dependencies, performance, security).
- Develop the IT guidelines supporting the selected solutions.
- Produce solution architecture dossiers, including coverage of non-functional requirements.
- Describe and simplify solutions using architectural diagrams and models (ideally ArchiMate).
- Guide teams through detailed design and solution integration.
- Formulate transition, coexistence, conversion, and offboarding strategies.
- Communicate effectively across diverse audiences: business, functional, developers, managers, scrum masters, and delivery leads.
- Ensure solution compliance with clients' guidelines, standards, and policies.
- Apply practical knowledge of up-to-date software architectures: microservices, event-driven, API-first, continuous integration.
- Maintain a strong functional and technical understanding of application components (services, APIs, modules, dependencies).
- Challenge or support software design decisions (patterns, anti-patterns, design impacts).
- Understand software quality drivers: testability, observability, performance,
coupling, application security.
- Define and enforce development best practices for the Guidewire Cloud solution.
- Mentor developers and act as a technical reference point for the Guidewire suite.
Candidate Profile
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent.
- 8+ years of experience as a Solution Architect Advisor or in an equivalent role.
- 5+ years of experience with the Guidewire suite (mandatory).
- Proven track record as a Solution Architect Advisor on large projects.
- Strong ability to prioritize, plan work, and thrive in a matrix environment.
- Excellent communication skills (oral, written, simplifying complex concepts).
- Fluency in French (written and spoken) is ideal
- Intermediate to advanced level of English.
- Ability to quickly escalate critical issues when required.
- Proficiency in one or more architecture frameworks and the ArchiMate notation.
- Experience with cross-application integration (APIs, Web Services, event-driven architecture).
- Solid grasp of deployment methods and concepts for on-premise and cloud infrastructure (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS, CaaS).
- Experience with microservices architecture.
- Mastery of the Guidewire suite: PolicyCenter, ClaimCenter, BillingCenter.
- Working knowledge of Guidewire suite APIs.
- Knowledge of Guidewire APD (Advanced Product Designer) is an asset.
- Proficiency in the Gosu language and Page Configuration (PCF) for Guidewire products.
- Holding one or more Guidewire certifications (Associate / Specialist / ACE) is a major asset.
