About the Role
We are looking for a skilled, detail-oriented Hardscape Lead Hand to join our design-build team. You won't just be executing a plan; you’ll be the bridge between the design and the finished product. We specialize in high-end residential transformations, including custom interlock, structural retaining walls, multi-level steps, and complete softscape installations.
As the Lead Hand, you will manage a crew of 1–3 laborers, ensuring projects are completed on time, on budget, and to our "zero-callback" quality standard.
Key Responsibilities
Site Execution: Lead the installation of interlock pavers, natural stone, retaining walls (armour stone/modular), and steps.
Technical Layout: Set grades, use laser levels for proper drainage, and interpret landscape blueprints/designs.
Equipment Operation: Proficiently operate skid steers, mini-excavators, and plate compactors.
Team Leadership: Direct daily tasks for laborers, maintain a safe job site, and ensure high morale.
Quality Control:
Ensure base preparation (excavation/compaction) meets or exceeds industry standards.
What You Bring
Experience: Minimum 2–3 years in residential hardscaping with at least 1 year in a supervisory/lead role.
Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of standards for pavers and walls.
Physical Stamina: Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions and perform heavy lifting.
Reliability: Valid G License (DZ is a major plus) and reliable transportation to the yard or job site.
Soft Skills: Clear communication skills for interacting with clients and reporting to the Project Manager.
