Join our team as a 3rd year Heavy Duty Mechanic Apprentice. This paid apprenticeship offers an opportunity to gain hands-on experience working with a wide range of highway trucks/trailers and body job equipment. Under the guidance of experienced mechanics, you'll develop skills in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining heavy-duty vehicles gaining experience with engines, power trains and electrical systems.

Duties

- Assist senior mechanics in inspecting and repairing heavy duty equipment
- Learn to interpret computer diagnostics to diagnose mechanical and electrical issues
- Support maintenance tasks on various types of on highway transportation equipment.
- Use hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and other mechanical tools to perform repairs and assembly tasks
- Participate in heavy lifting operations safely using appropriate equipment and techniques
- Conduct routine inspections to identify wear and tear on machinery and components
- Maintain detailed records of repairs, maintenance activities,



and parts used for each piece of equipment
- Perform routine service work as required

Skills

- Basic mechanical knowledge with an eagerness to learn advanced repair techniques
- Hands on experience with tractor trailer and body job equipment experience is a plus
- Ability to operate forklifts safely and efficiently
- Understanding of electrical systems in heavy-duty vehicles preferred.
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and maintenance procedures
- Excellent customer service skills when interacting with team members
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while adhering to safety protocols

Pay: $28.00-$38.00 per hour
