Introduction

Brunel is seeking experienced Heavy Equipment Mechanics for a contract opportunity supporting a major mining project in Saskatchewan. Working as an independent contractor, the successful candidate will provide field-based maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair services for a fleet of surface mobile equipment. This role is focused on responding to equipment breakdowns, diagnosing mechanical issues, and performing repairs on active equipment in the field to maximize availability and minimize operational downtime.

Schedule & Contractor Information

· 7 days on / 7 days off rotation.

· 12-hour day shifts.

· Field-based role supporting surface mobile equipment.

· Contractors must supply and maintain their own truck and tools.

· Pre-employment medical, drug and alcohol testing, and site access requirements apply.

Responsibilities

- Perform field-based inspections, diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repairs on a fleet of surface mobile equipment.
- Respond to equipment breakdowns and unplanned maintenance events in a secure, timely, and efficient manner.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and powertrain systems.
- Conduct preventative maintenance and servicing in accordance with OEM recommendations and site requirements.
- Maintain and repair equipment including dozers, telehandlers, skid steers, cranes, and other surface support equipment.
- Inspect equipment and identify deficiencies requiring corrective action.
- Test and verify equipment performance following repairs to ensure safe and reliable operation.
- Complete maintenance records,



inspection reports, and work orders accurately and in a timely manner.
- Maintain compliance with all site safety procedures, standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Work closely with operations personnel to support equipment reliability and availability across the project.

Requirements

- Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Technician or Heavy-Duty Equipment Mechanic certification.
- Experience maintaining and repairing heavy mobile equipment in mining, construction, or industrial operations.
- Experience working on equipment such as dozers, telehandlers, skid steers, cranes, and other mobile support equipment is considered an asset.
- Valid Class 5 Driver's License.
- Demonstrated commitment to safety and compliance with site procedures and standards.
- Ability to pass all required pre-employment medical, drug and alcohol testing, and site access requirements.
