About the Role
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Design Engineer to join an engineering team in Australia. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, reviewing and improving engineering designs while working closely with project, manufacturing and technical teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and modify engineering designs based on project requirements and technical specifications.
- Prepare detailed engineering drawings, 3D models and design documentation.
- Use CAD and other engineering design software to develop accurate designs.
- Review designs for functionality, quality, safety and compliance with applicable standards.
- Collaborate with engineers, project managers, manufacturers and other stakeholders.
- Support prototype development, testing and design validation where required.
- Identify design improvements and contribute to engineering optimisation.
- Maintain accurate technical documentation and design records.
- Assist with resolving technical and design-related issues during project delivery.
Key Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or relevant qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Industrial Engineering or a related discipline.
- Relevant skilled experience in engineering design.
- Proficiency in relevant CAD/design software.
- Strong understanding of engineering principles, drawings and technical documentation.
- Ability to interpret technical specifications and engineering standards.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
