Head Landscape Gardener

Join our growing landscape maintenance team as a Head Landscape Gardener!

We are looking for an experienced and motivated Head Landscape Gardener to help lead our garden maintenance team across a variety of residential and estate properties.

This is a hands-on leadership position. You will spend a significant amount of your time working alongside the team in the gardens, while also taking responsibility for organizing the daily work, managing the maintenance schedule, and making sure our properties are being cared for to a high standard.

Our properties vary widely in size, style, planting, and condition. We are looking for someone with good horticultural knowledge who can walk onto a property, understand what needs to be done, set priorities, and help the team get the work completed properly.

What You'll Do

- Lead and work alongside our garden maintenance team on a daily basis.
- Organize and manage maintenance work across multiple properties.
- Help plan daily and weekly schedules and assign tasks to team members.
- Work hands-on performing a wide range of gardening and landscape maintenance tasks.
- Monitor the progress and quality of work being completed.
- Keep the Operations Manager informed of completed work, outstanding tasks, scheduling concerns, and any issues that need attention.
- Assess gardens and identify maintenance needs, priorities, and potential problems.




- Maintain gardens to a high standard while adapting to the individual requirements of each property.
- Perform and oversee tasks including:
- Pruning and trimming
- Weeding and garden bed maintenance
- Planting and transplanting
- Mulching and edging
- Seasonal garden cleanups
- Lawn and turf maintenance
- Plant health and general garden care
- General landscape and property maintenance
- Identify plant health, pest, disease, irrigation, or other landscape issues and communicate concerns when necessary.
- Help ensure tools, equipment, materials, and vehicles are used safely and responsibly.
- Provide direction and support to team members and help maintain a positive, productive work setting.

What We're Looking For
- 2–3 years of experience in horticulture, gardening, landscape maintenance, or a related field.
- Some formal education or training in horticulture.
- Solid knowledge of plants and general horticultural practices.
- Experience leading or coordinating others is an asset.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Good communication skills and the ability to keep management updated.
- A good eye for detail and pride in the quality of your work.
- Someone who can work independently and take ownership of their responsibilities.
- Comfortable working outdoors in all types of weather.

Pay: $18.41-$34.65 per hour
