The Maintenance Technician is responsible for the general maintenance, repair, upkeep, and secure operation of the hotel property, including guest rooms, public areas, mechanical areas, and exterior grounds.

The Maintenance Technician is expected to respond promptly to maintenance requests, identify and address maintenance issues, perform preventative maintenance, and ensure that the hotel is maintained in a safe, clean, comfortable, and functional condition for guests and employees.

The position requires a hands-on, dependable individual who can work independently, prioritize maintenance requests, and recognize when a repair requires the involvement of a qualified outside contractor or licensed tradesperson.

Responsibilities

- Respond promptly to maintenance requests from guests and hotel staff.
- Inspect and repair items in guest rooms, including doors, locks, furniture, fixtures, plumbing, lighting, electrical outlets, thermostats, and other room equipment.
- Repair or replace minor hardware, fixtures, and fittings as required.
- Address maintenance issues in hallways, lobby areas, meeting rooms, offices, laundry areas, washrooms, and other public spaces.




- Ensure guest rooms are in proper working condition before being returned to service.
- Respond to urgent maintenance issues that may affect guest comfort or hotel operations.
- Perform routine and preventative maintenance throughout the property.
- Conduct regular inspections of building systems and equipment.
- Perform minor repairs to plumbing, heating, cooling, ventilation, and electrical systems where appropriately qualified and permitted.
- Perform minor drywall repairs, painting, caulking, patching, carpentry, and other general repairs.
- Repair and maintain doors, hinges, locks, handles, faucets, toilets, drains, lighting fixtures, and other building components.
- Assist with the maintenance and upkeep of hotel equipment and machinery.
- Identify potential problems before they become major repairs and report concerns to management
