The Prospect
Chai Lifeline Canada is looking for a dedicated and dynamic Human Resources Manager to help our organization run smoothly while fostering a positive, supportive workplace. This is not a back-office administrative role — it's an opportunity for a genuine people leader to shape the culture, growth, and wellbeing of a mission-driven team.

We're looking for someone who brings real leadership presence to the role: solid, positive, and people-first, with the strategic instincts to help guide the organization forward.
Who We're Looking For
Beyond HR expertise, the right candidate is leader material. We're seeking a solid, positive, people-first professional who will have a lasting, positive impact on our organization. Specifically, you are:
- A natural leader — you inspire trust and confidence among staff and leadership alike, and step up to guide others with confidence and calm.
- Flexible and adaptable — equally comfortable setting strategy and rolling up your sleeves for hands-on, day-to-day HR work in a fast-moving environment.
- A true people person — approachable, empathetic, and an excellent listener who builds authentic, trust-based relationships across every level of the organization.
- A strategic thinker — able to see the big picture, anticipate organizational needs, and align HR initiatives with Chai Lifeline Canada's mission and goals.
- Positive and solutions-oriented — you bring energy, optimism, and resilience to the workplace, and turn challenges into opportunities.
- Values-driven — you lead with integrity, humility, and genuine care, modeling Chai Lifeline Canada's core values in everything you do.
- A relationship builder — someone whose presence strengthens morale, culture, and connection across the entire team.
What You'll Do Leadership & Strategy
- Work with the leadership team to ensure consistent, fair performance management practices.
- Build strategies for employee growth and organizational development.
- Manage project timelines and deliverables.
Recruitment & People
- Collaborate with department directors on recruitment — job postings, candidate interviews, and selection.
- Serve as a trusted resource for staff on HR matters, including policies, benefits, and conflict resolution.
- Organize staff engagement initiatives, team-building activities, and recognition programs that build morale and retention.
- Oversee employee development plans and training programs that promote skill-building and career growth.
- Support managers in conducting performance reviews and addressing performance-related issues.
Compliance & Administration
- Communicate staff needs, policy updates, and organizational changes as required.
- Ensure compliance with federal and provincial labour laws, workplace health and safety regulations, and other applicable standards.
- Oversee the implementation of HR policies and procedures, including payroll, onboarding and offboarding.
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date employee records.
- Assist in creating and maintaining job descriptions for all roles within the organization.
What You Bring
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- CHRP or CHRL designation considered an asset.
- Five (5) years' experience in an HR Manager role.
- Strong understanding of Canadian employment law and HR best practices.
