Join SACLA’s People & Culture Team

Southern Alberta Community Living Association (SACLA) is looking for an organized, people-focused Human Resources Coordinator to join our People & Culture team for a six-month term.

This is a hands-on role with a strong focus on recruitment, onboarding and HR administration. You’ll help keep our recruitment processes moving, support candidates through the hiring process, maintain accurate employee information, and provide day-to-day administrative support to the People & Culture team.

We’re also working to make better use of our HR technology and streamline how we do things. You’ll be joining us during a period of transition, so we’re looking for someone who is comfortable learning new systems, working with both manual and digital processes, and adapting as our processes evolve.

What You’ll Do

Recruitment & Hiring

You’ll support the recruitment process from application screening through to onboarding, including:

- Reviewing applications and resumes against established position requirements.
- Conducting candidate pre-screens and assessing candidate availability and suitability.
- Coordinating and scheduling interviews with hiring leaders.
- Conducting or participating in structured candidate interviews.
- Using established interview guides and assessment criteria to support fair and consistent hiring decisions.
- Communicating with candidates throughout the recruitment process.
- Completing reference checks and other pre-employment requirements.
- Supporting the preparation and coordination of employment offers.
- Helping successful candidates transition into onboarding.

Onboarding You’ll help make sure new employees have what they need to get started by:

- Coordinating pre-employment and onboarding documentation.
- Following up on outstanding forms, information and requirements.
- Preparing and organizing new employee documentation.
- Coordinating information required for orientation and onboarding.




- Supporting communication between recent employees, hiring leaders and People & Culture.

HR Administration & Records You’ll also provide important administrative support to our People & Culture team, including:

- Maintaining confidential employee records and personnel files.
- Organizing, filing and scanning employee documentation.
- Reviewing files for completeness and identifying missing information.
- Entering, updating and verifying information in HR systems and tracking tools.
- Maintaining recruitment spreadsheets and administrative records.
- Preparing routine HR correspondence, forms and documents.
- Supporting the transition of manual HR processes and information into our HRIS.
- Helping identify administrative processes that could be simplified or better supported through our HRIS.

What You Bring We’re looking for someone with:

- Post-secondary education in Human Resources, Business Administration, Office Administration or a related field; an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may also be considered.
- Previous experience in human resources, recruitment, or administration.
- Experience screening candidates or participating in interviews is an asset.
- Knowledge of recruitment, selection, onboarding and HR administrative practices.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Robust written and verbal communication skills.
- The ability to manage multiple priorities and follow tasks through to completion.
- The ability to handle confidential employee and candidate information with discretion and professional judgment.
- Comfort working independently while recognizing when something needs to be escalated.
- Experience with an HRIS or applicant tracking system is an asset.
- Experieince working in a unionized environment would





Strong Excel Skills Are Important This role works regularly with recruitment and HR information. We’re looking for someone with intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including experience with formulas and functions, sorting and filtering, data validation, pivot tables, and creating and maintaining tracking and reporting tools.

This six-month position is an opportunity to gain hands-on experience across recruitment, onboarding and HR administration while working alongside the People & Culture team focused on strengthening our HR practices, systems and employee experience.

This is an out- of- scope position reporting to the Director of People & Culture.

Pay: $24.00-$27.00 per hour

Expected hours: 24.0 per week

Education

- DCS / DEC (preferred)

Experience:
- Full cycle recruiting: 2 years (preferred)
- intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel: 3 years (required)
