Key Requirements
Candidates must have
- a current LSO licence and valuable standing;
- demonstrated Canadian Federal Court immigration/refugee judicial review experience;
- strong legal writing and research skills, with the ability to take ownership of assigned files; and
- availability to work primarily in person in Toronto.
Overview Kooh Law seeks an Ontario lawyer to join its immigration, refugee and Federal Court practice. The successful candidate will receive assigned matters and work directly with principal counsel within a structured, technology-forward litigation practice.
Responsibilities
Federal Court leave/JR matters; PRRA; RPD/RAD; IAD; inadmissibility; section 44 matters; sponsorship/refusals; criminality-related immigration matters; written advocacy; evidence review; client conferences; legal research; and disciplined file management.
Qualifications
LSO licence and good standing required. Strong legal writing, judgment, organization and client communication are essential.
Federal Court experience is strongly preferred.
Technology expectations
Demonstrated fluency with practice-management software, Microsoft 365/Teams/SharePoint, electronic filing, PDF/evidence management, digital calendaring and secure digital client communications.
Compensation and application
Contract-counsel compensation based on professional fees collected on assigned matters. Detailed terms will be discussed confidentially with shortlisted candidates. No book of business is required.
