AStar Learning is seeking an experienced educator to provide in-person tutoring in SE Calgary. We enhance students’ academic performance through personalized learning experiences that recognize each student’s unique strengths, needs, and learning style.

For this opportunity, we are looking for a current or retired teacher who is passionate about individualized instruction and creating a structured, encouraging environment where students can develop confidence and succeed academically. Experience supporting neurodivergent students and adapting instruction to meet diverse learning needs is highly valued.

This is a consistent, in-person tutoring prospect for someone who enjoys building strong relationships with students and is able to commit to the full school year.

We are seeking an In-Person Academic Tutor to provide individualized academic instruction to students in SE Calgary.

The successful candidate will work closely with students to deliver engaging, personalized lessons while adapting teaching approaches to support their individual learning needs.

Experience with differentiated instruction, personalized learning, and supporting neurodivergent learners is an asset.

Required Qualifications





- Current or retired certified teacher preferred
- Previous experience teaching or tutoring students in a classroom, homeschool, or one-on-one setting
- Experience supporting students with diverse learning needs
- Strong understanding of differentiated and individualized instruction
- Patient, compassionate, dependable, and student-focused
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and maintain a structured learning environment
- Passion for innovative and student-centred teaching
- Solid commitment to supporting students’ academic, social, and emotional development
- Ability to commit to Tuesdays at 4 PM throughout the school year
- Ability to commute reliably to the SE, Calgary location
- Willingness to complete a Police Information Check, including Vulnerable Sector Check, as required

Subjects: Math & ELA
- Schedule: Tuesdays at 4 PM
- Position Type: Part-time, in-person
- Compensation: $22 to $25/hour, based on experience and qualification
