General Labourer – Painting, Drywall & Unit Turnovers Azteca Contracting · Hamilton, ON · Full-time · $20–$22 per hour

About Azteca Contracting Azteca Contracting is a licensed contracting company based in Hamilton, Ontario. We work with property management companies and building owners across Hamilton and the GTA, handling apartment unit turnovers, painting, drywall repairs, caulking, and general maintenance. When a tenant moves out, we're the team that gets the unit back to rent-ready condition, often on a tight timeline.

We're a small, family-run business where everyone pitches in.We take the time to train people properly and give them room to grow as the company grows.

The role We're hiring a full-time General Labourer to join our field crew. You'll work alongside our team completing unit turnovers and repair jobs in residential buildings. Most of the work is interior: painting, drywall, and caulking make up the bulk of the day, with general labour, garbage removal, and site clean-up in between.

A typical day

- Meet the crew and load the company vehicle with tools and materials
- Drive to the job site (anywhere in the GTA)
- Prep the unit: move or cover fixtures, tape, sand, patch holes and dents
- Paint walls, ceilings, trim, doors, and closets
- Repair drywall: patch, tape, mud, sand, and finish so it blends in
- Re-caulk tubs, showers, sinks, countertops, baseboards, windows, and trim
- Handle small repairs as they come up (door hardware, minor fixes, etc.)
- Clean up the unit, remove garbage and debris, and load out, leaving the site tidy for the next trade or the cleaner
- Report back on what was completed and anything that needs attention

Key responsibilities

- Interior painting: surface prep, cutting in, rolling, touch-ups, and clean finish work
- Drywall repair and finishing, from small patches to larger damaged sections
- Caulking and sealing in kitchens, bathrooms, and around windows and trim
- General labour: demo, garbage and debris removal,



hauling materials, loading/unloading, organizing tools and materials
- Working safely and cleanly in occupied buildings, respecting tenants, hallways, and common areas
- Keeping the company vehicle and tools clean and organized
- Communicating clearly with the crew lead and office about job progress and material needs

What we're looking for

- Some hands-on experience with painting, drywall, and caulking. You don't need to be a pro, but you should know the basics and take pride in clean work
- Valid Ontario G or G2 driver's licence (required as you'll be driving a company vehicle)
- Physical ability and comfortability lifting, kneeling, working on ladders, and being on your feet all day
- Comfortable with the less glamorous parts of the job, including garbage removal and hauling debris out of units
- Reliable and punctual. Our clients depend on units being ready on time, so we depend on you showing up
- Valuable attitude, willing to learn, and able to take direction and work as part of a small crew
- Professional and respectful around tenants, building staff, and property managers
- Attention to detail. Clean lines, smooth patches, and neat caulking matter to us

Nice to have

- WHMIS certification
- Working at Heights certification
- Experience with unit turnovers or property maintenance

What we offer

- $20–$22 per hour, depending on experience
- Full-time hours, typically 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. Your day starts when you arrive on site and ends when you leave the site

Work locations Job sites throughout the GTA and surrounding areas, including Hamilton, Ancaster, Burlington, Oakville, Milton, Mississauga, Toronto, Kitchener, etc. Pay: $20.00-$22.00 per hour
