We are currently looking for 2nd, 3rd, or 4th-year Millwright Apprentices to work in industrial contracting and maintenance services. This position involves working in a variety of industrial environments and provides hands-on experience in areas including welding and fabrication both in-shop and on-site, preventative maintenance, machine repair, machinery moving, line support, and other industrial maintenance activities.
Responsibilities
- Assist with the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of industrial equipment and machinery
- Perform preventative and predictive maintenance under the guidance of experienced Millwrights
- Assist in diagnosing mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals
- Conduct equipment inspections and assist in identifying potential problems
- Work closely with Millwrights, production, and maintenance teams to minimize downtime
- Develop hands-on skills and knowledge while progressing through the Millwright apprenticeship program
- Use hand tools, power tools, and measuring equipment safely and effectively
- Ensure all work is completed safely and in compliance with company policies
- Maintain accurate maintenance records
Qualifications
- Registered or eligible to register as a Millwright Apprentice (433A Industrial Mechanic Millwright) in Ontario
- Previous industrial, mechanical, maintenance, or related experience considered an asset
- Strong mechanical aptitude and interest in troubleshooting and problem-solving
- Exposure to conveyors, pumps, motors, gearboxes, hydraulics, and pneumatics considered an asset
- Welding and fabrication experience considered an asset
- Ability and willingness to learn from experienced Millwrights and take direction
- Ability to work independently as skills develop and as part of a team
- Reliable, motivated, and committed to progressing through the apprenticeship program
- Strong commitment to workplace safety
