Accountabilities:

- Informing parent/guardian about the infant hearing program-screening
- Obtain consent from parent/guardian for screening test as well as consent for releasing screening results to the Infant Hearing Program at ErinoakKids Centre for treatment and development
- Utilizing and ensuring the integrity of screening equipment
- Communicating screening results to the parent/guardian and discussing the follow-up recommendations
- Maintaining competency in the testing procedures

Qualifications





- Community College Diploma in a health related field such as communications disorder specialist or hearing instrument specialist
- Demonstrated recent experience working with newborns, infants and their families
- Demonstrated work experience within a health care setting
- Demonstrated knowledge of principles of adult education
- Excellent problem-solving skills, able to prioritize workload and work effectively with the healthcare team
- Self-directed, independent and professional
- Able to deal effectively with newborns, infants and their families
- Excellent organization, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated ability with managing databases (i.e. Access, SQL)
- Demonstrated experience with computer applications, especially Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint and Meditech with attention to accuracy and detail
- Excellent attendance record
- May be required to work and travel between all Osler sites

Additional Information

Hours: Currently days, eight hour shifts including weekends and statutory holidays (subject to change in accordance with operational requirements)

Salary

Minimum: $31.51 per hour

Maximum: $39.43 per hour
