The Equity Sales Trading team represents institutional clients on the equity marketplace via research, trade ideas, identifying current market trends, trade orders, risk management and providing expert analysis on market conditions. The role will report to Managing Director, Head of Canada Cash Equity Trading. The Institutional Equity Salestrader of TDS Equity Sales and Trading will work on the institutional equity trading desk, providing coverage for institutional clients to execute equity trades, while provide insights and trading strategies. This position is fully informed on market data, economic information and key industry developments as well as regulatory standards at all times to assist in maximizing profitability through sound and well informed decisions. The position also develops and maintains relationships with institutional, corporate and private clients, while collaborating with other groups across asset classes and jurisdictions. This position liaises closely with the banks other operations in Canada, Europe, Asia Pacific and the U.S. to assist in meeting the Banks objectives. Depth & Scope: Position is fully informed on market data, economic information and key industry developments as well as regulatory standards at all times to assist in maximizing profitability through sound trading decisions. Position develops and maintains contacts Ensures that transactions are fully documented and processed accurately and in a timely manner Strict adherence personally and at a desk level to the firm’s procedures Communicates bank, policy information and strategy between the product head and relevant trading personnel Is aware of and understands the approved Business Strategies (Strategic Business Reviews SBR's), applicable to your business, and ensures that all business dealings are in alignment with these strategies Follows the Market Risk Policies applicable to the business and is responsible for being aware of and understanding the approved Trading Strategies (associated with the respective Market Risk Policies) applicable to the business, and ensures that all of your trading activity is in alignment with those Strategies Follows Credit Risk Policies and procedures, as they apply to your business and are responsible for being aware of and understanding such policies and procedures and ensuring that applicable sales and trading activity is in line with those policies Demonstrates governance,
control and risk management behaviors in alignment with TD policies and practices Establishes an environment that promotes respect for the individual employee and adheres to the policies and Guidelines of the Bank Directs, trains, and develops staff to enable them to meet challenges, department objectives and achieve full potential Works with Human Resources to recruit staff with the correct level of skills and competencies, adhering to the Banks recruitment procedures and best practices Manages the performance of the team globally ensuring staff have clear pre-set objectives and gets regular feedback on their performance Ensures performance appraisals are conducted in line with the firm’s policy and standards Provides leadership, direction, advice and guidance to the team, thus maintaining high levels of integrity, motivation and morale Maintains staff competence by ensuring that staff skills or knowledge gaps are met with appropriate training and development, so they are able to perform to their maximum capability and fulfill their potential Initiates actions to further improve your own and the teams skills and performance.
