OverviewPosition:School PsychologistAssignment:Psychologist - Resource - All Grades or LevelsFTE:1.0Location:District Administration OfficeEffective dates:Commencing September 1, 2026 and continuingQualificationsBasic Qualifications:The successful candidate will hold a Master's Degree in School Psychology, Educational Psychology or equivalent and recent successful experience as a School Psychologist. Certification as a teacher would be an asset.Training Specialization:Master 's Degree in School Psychology and/or Educational PsychologyRelated Teaching Experience:Not required for this postingA Reasonable Expectation:based on a teacher 's skills, abilities, professional development, and overall classroom teaching experience, that the teacher will be able to perform the duties in a successful manner in collaboration with other professional staff.Additional Qualifications:Eligible for certification in the BC Association of School PsychologistsOther:training and recent experience in providing psych-educational assessments for students (Level C as per Ministry guidelines); proven experiencein the development of positive, cooperative and consultative relationships with students, parent,
colleagues and other staff; knowledge and skills inthe identification procedures and program planning for students with diverse needs including ASD; other developmentdisorders, learning disabilities and behavioural disorders; the ability to write clear and effective reports with appropriate school based recommendations; the ability to provide school based in-service to teachers and other staff members; current knowledgeand strategies for the teaching of literacy and numeracy skills to students experiencing learning difficulties; the ability to assist school personnel in the writing of effective CB - IEPs; be a strong advocate for students with diverse needs and students with different learning needs; the ability to use technology effectively and efficiently; valid BC Driver's License and appropriate means of transportation.Salary and BenefitsThe annual salary for the full time Teacher ranges from $64,901 to $116,190 with placement on the range based on length of service and qualifications in accordance with the collective agreement.
