We are working with an established consumer business in the Greater Toronto Area to place an Intermediate Accountant on their finance team, reporting to the Controller. The business operates across several locations and revenue streams, so the accounting is high-volume and hands-on.

This role owns a real portion of the day-to-day accounting and the month-end close as the business grows. It suits someone with solid fundamentals who wants more ownership, is comfortable working directly in an ERP, and likes improving how the numbers and the process come together rather than just maintaining them.

Responsibilities

- Record and reconcile revenue across multiple business lines, ensuring proper recognition and supporting documentation
- Prepare journal entries and supporting schedules for assigned areas of the month-end and quarterly close
- Perform balance sheet account reconciliations, identifying and resolving discrepancies on time
- Reconcile daily sales and payment activity across multiple platforms, resolving discrepancies promptly
- Complete daily and monthly bank reconciliations and review general ledger coding
- Track and reconcile operating and marketing expenses against approvals
- Support reporting, dashboards,



and process automation across the company's finance systems
- Support the Controller with audit preparation and ad hoc analysis

What We're Looking For

- 3 to 5 years of Canadian accounting experience, ideally including month-end close in a multi-location or consumer-facing environment
- CPA candidate, enrolled in or actively working toward the designation
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft Dynamics
- Intermediate to advanced Excel; exposure to reporting or automation tools is a plus
- Working knowledge of GAAP, ASPE, or IFRS and revenue recognition
- Robust attention to detail and comfort managing deadlines in a high-volume environment
